During the summer and early fall, you might want to consider a day canoeing on the James River. A local livery can schedule a trip for you. Several public golf courses are nearby and there are a number of restaurants available for evening dining – from a four-star, elegant inn to a family-style tavern. The Goochland Historical Society is within walking distance.
Brightly is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic Landmark.
